On Wednesday, May 6 near the building of the store «Moscow Book House an New Arbat» (Novy Arbat street 8, metro station «Arbatskaya») there was a picket против against free sale of books for children containing elements of pornography. The action organizers were Interregional public movement «Narodny Sobor» and Interregional public organization «Spravedlivost».
Activists of theses organizations spread the placards: «I would send to prison for 20 years  for children’s «sexual education»!», «Tales for children about homosexuals from director of «Book House», «Pornography for children is a double crime!», «No seduction of our children!», «Souls of our children for thirty western coins?», «Is «Book House» is a porno centre?», «Is Luzhkov not worried about seduction of our children?» etc.

The action of «Spravedlivost» and  «Narodny Sobor» was held after the recent press-conference of these organizations. There were publicized shocking information about open sale at the largest stores of Moscow, including «Moscow Book House an New Arbat», of edition with elements of pornography oriented on children. Among them is Dumont V. «Where did I come form? Sexual encyclopaedia for children of 5 to 8», Petrovich Y «Sex for Beginners», Darwill V., Powell C. «Sex for children. Secretly about «this»». According to the data of independent legal and psychoethical expertise these books are not just provoke practising sex in childhood but they popularize sexual perversions, including homogeneous intercourse.
The picket participants presented to journalists and all action witnesses fragments of the editions, including «useful» advice to a child: poses by practising sex, erogenous areas, images of sexual intercourses.
Andrey Stolbunov, chairman of Board of Directors of IPO «Spravedlivost» told that in European countries such kind of literature is sold at special places unavailable for children. «In Moscow a child having pocket money can freely buy editions with elements of pornography at book stores, Stolbunov shared. – We analyze to find out where such kind of literature comes from. Probably, the investigation would take much time. But we hope it will help to fix who and what stands behind the sale of children’s books with elements of pornography, if it is a planned action or just slovenliness of officials. Anyhow, we will appeal to governmental authorities. Judging by the reaction of the leaders of «Book House» they come slowly to understand that they had done the wrong thing».
As A.Stolbunov remarked, in compliance with the law «On basic guarantees of the children’s rights» dated July 3, 1998, governmental authorities should defend children from distribution of literature popularizing pornography. Unfortunately, this normative act does not work in reality.
